Join expert Johnny Homer as he takes you on a whistlestop tour of the many pubs fascinating pubs in Whitstable and Herne Bay. The Kent coastal towns of Whitstable and Herne Bay are 5 miles apart, but are very different in character. However, they are united in having a wealth of diverse and colourful pubs. Smugglers and customs men, oyster dredger and divers have all met in the local hostelries that have punctuated the growth of these salty seaside towns.

Johnny Homer is a journalist, broadcaster, author and tour guide based in Whitstable. He is well-known to Londoners as a regular and long-serving contributor to the Robert Elms Show on BBC Radio London.  His written work has appeared in national newspapers, a variety of magazines and on several websites, among them The Guardian, The Face, NME, Melody Maker, Sounds, The Buzz, The Weekender, Focus, Vox, What’s On In London and View London. He is also the author of Canterbury Pubs, City of London Pubs, Whitstable and Herne Bay Pubs and Brewing in Kent. His latest book, Brewing in London has just been published.
