WhitLit is the sister festival to WhitFood.

Established in 2014, WhitLit presents author events, family activities and workshops. From poetry to crime, memoir, music, art, history, film, pop culture and everything in between, WhitLit’s mission is to inspire, educate and entertain.

Now firmly established event on the Kent cultural calendar, WhitLit has welcomed many literary and cultural luminaries including Susan Hill, Kate Mosse, Joanne Harris, David Nicholls, Louis de Bernieres, Michele Roberts, Helen Dunmore, Patrick Gale, Alison Weir,  Jenny Boyd, John Gordon Sinclair, Jenny Uglow, Lynn Barber, Kate Adie, Sandi Toksvig, Steve Cole, Martin Bell, alongside many new and emerging voices and local authors.

WhitFood arrived in 2016 with restaurant events, talks, book signings and tastings featuring Angela Hartnett, Jose Pizarro, Stephen Harris (The Sportsman), Skye Gyngell, Drew Smith and Dan Doherty and will continue to celebrate the town’s culinary heritage.
