Whitstable Pearl at Samphire

Thursday 4 October 2018

7.30pm, £40ph plus wine. Booking via Samphire 01227 770 075

Julie Wassmer’s bestselling Whitstable Pearl crime series follows restaurateur-turned private detective Pearl Nolan uncovering a variety of murders, mysteries and disappearances in the town. The Whitstable Pearl restaurant features prominently in the novels with Julie basing the interior of her fictional eatery on the real life Samphire in the High Street.

To open the WhitFood Festival 2018, Samphire will become the Whitstable Pearl for one evening only, and offer a seafood menu inspired by the books, and hosted by Julie, who will be reading short foodie extracts from her books before each course.

A great fun evening full of great food, wine and fiction.

“Many would be seduced by the panoramic views of the beach-facing establishments but there were plenty who fell for the more informal charms of Pearl Nolan’s own restaurant, The Whitstable Pearl, especially since it served the best seafood in town…”

“Clues to a crime are like ingredients for a meal, don’t you think? Put them together in the right way and the result can be very satisfying…”
